Catching Up

Wow - the last few weeks have flown by! I posted on my Instagram last week that I've known since the beginning of the year that June was going to be crazy busy. The first two weekends I was out of town (quick recaps below), last weekend I had my first Bliss wedding (cue the confetti!), and this weekend I am wrapping up the month with a wedding for another sweet #BlissBride.

June, Week 1: Hana's Bachelorette Party in Austin

In my last post I talked about how excited I was to get to spend some time with my best gal pals for a weekend celebrating Hana. It was SUCH a great getaway - we had the best time getting to reconnect and catch-up. One thing I've learned recently is that post-college friendships carry a whole new level of meaning. It takes time and a lot of effort to maintain friendships when your friends are spread all over the country the convenience factor isn't there like it is in college.  I am so grateful that I have such a great group of girlfriends that I can always count on. You know you're in good company when the 6-hour turned 9-hour road trip to Austin flies by because you're having such a good time chatting ;)

June, Week 2: DC and NYC

I arrived home from Austin on Sunday evening, had a couple of quick days at home and was off again to spend some time with my mom and my sister on the East Coast. My parents still live in the Washington, DC area and there is nothing I love more than escaping for a few days to reconnect with my family. Plus, my family just moved into a new home and is is the view from their neighborhood pool...

Y'all there is absolutely no filter on that picture and I kind of wish it wasn't so pretty so I wouldn't miss it so much!! I told my sister that she needs to be there at least once every day while she is home ;)

After two days in DC we got on the train and spent 4 days exploring New York City! My mom is a huge Dixie Chicks fan and LOVES NYC, so for Christmas me and my sister Morgan got her Dixie Chicks tickets at Madison Square Garden. Instead of doing a quick trip just for the concert, we made a long weekend out of it and had the best time. We walked 8+ miles almost every day that we were there...I'm not sure I'm going to be allowed to be in charge of planning trips anymore!! A few highlights below

Overall, the first two weeks of June were crazy, busy, and a whirlwind, but completely fun-filled! I am so grateful for the time I had with my friends and family. While I'm (not-so) secretly missing the east coast, I'm also SUPER glad to be back with my cutie husband. We decided spending 2+ weeks apart isn't something we'll do again anytime soon ;)

Tune in tomorrow for a recap of my first Bliss wedding!
